News from the Task Force Addressing Christian Nationalism:

Books for Lenten Study & Discernment

The task force has developed the following STUDY GUIDES for several books about Christian nationalism:

• How to End Christian Nationalism, by Amanda Tyler. A step-by-step guide for Christians to counter the ideology of Christian nationalism with Jesus’s message of love and justice. STUDY GUIDE

• The False White Gospel, by Jim Wallis. An invitation to dismantle the false gospel of white supremacy and counter it with a renewed understanding of Jesus’s teachings. STUDY GUIDE

• Separation of Church and Hate, by John Fugelsang. The subtitle summarizes the book: “A Sane Person's Guide to Taking Back the Bible from Fundamentalists, Fascists, and Flock-Fleecing Frauds.” STUDY GUIDE

• The Power Worshippers, by Katherine Stewart. A journalist’s report of the network of think tanks, advocacy groups, and pastoral organizations behind the rise of Christian nationalism in the United States. STUDY GUIDE

We have coordinated with the Episcopal Resource Center (which serves the Dioceses of California and El Camino Real), and several copies of each book are available to borrow from the Resource Center. To arrange for a book to be mailed to you,

Books can also be purchased from local bookstores or online, and many are also available in your local library.
